The footprints of the John Taolo Gaetsewe Developmental Trust remain conspicuous in the vast areas of the Joe Morolong local municipality.
This comes after the trust, alongside the municipality, identified highly deserving families that each received a house on October 08, 2018.
The Mosegedi and Orekeng families were elated to receive new modern houses and collectively echoed that their gifts inflated their spiritual faith that God belongs to everyone and can do wonders one least expects.
The combined donors further extended their generous hands by presenting a food garden to Itereleng Primary School with flourishing and nutritious vegetables.
The Mosegedi and Orekeng family were in cloud nine in receiving fully furnished three and two bed-roomed houses respectively. The houses were given iconic names, ie the “Mandela Day houses” in honour of the late and former statesman.
The trust also handed over the Itereleng Primary School Garden which supplies the local community with vegetables that includes carrots, potatoes, spinach and onions planted under a modern green house that protects the crops from extreme climatic conditions and pests.
The occasion was graced by the Joe Morolong local municipality mayor councillor Dineo Leutlwetse, her executive team, and the chief executive officer of the trust Tumelo Mpolokeng with his team, the trustee members and government officials. Both the trust and the municipality have the conviction that, while poverty remains a stigma in the region, it can be eradicated if community leaders can pull resources together and face it with the common vision to eliminate it.
