A magnificent entertainment centre by the name of Harambe Lifestyle on the peripherals of Kuruman town is to host its second annual festival at Ga-Sehubane Village on December 22, 2018.
Its first festival held during the same period, attracted close to 13 000 people drawn from all corners of the country including neighbouring entertainment-loving Botswana tourists who came in their great numbers.
The organising team led by Mr Mo Makatong as its marketing manager for the event said that preparations are at an advanced stage. Popular celebrities in the music industry will square it up again with local artists showing their nimble-footedness on the stage all the way from Johannesburg. The team said it is no secret that popular artists in the country like Holley Rey, Sho Madjozi, DJ Tira, Areece, Shimza, DJ Da Loots etc have confirmed they will lyrically grace the auspicious occasion.
Asked why hosting the occasion during this time of the year, one of the spokespersons who preferred to remain anonymous to avoid an avalanche of public calls, said that the main purpose is to welcome the all-embracing festivity and to propel the role of economic empowerment in the tourism sector in the region. He said that Kuruman has the greatest potential to become one of the best tourist attraction centres and such a festival of this magnitude is aimed at further unlocking the hidden potential in the area.
The region is resplendent with talented youths in the music industry as demonstrated recently by the Postmasburg-based Thato Makape who came out second in the prestigious national contest Idols SA. Such talent needs to rub shoulders with seasoned players in the sector to stimulate their ambitions and vision.
The festival is also an opportunity designed for families, friends and relatives to meet once in a year or so in an ambient atmosphere sharing the pros and cons of life from their different working environments.
Mr Mo Makatong said that Northerners like music and entrance fee is not a hindrance to them where the general public will pay R120 with VIPs R400 respectively.
