The past weekend, 2 March 2019, Kathu I hosted Wcc Wrenchville Cricket Club at Kathu Cricket Club in the last round of the JTG League.

Wrenchville won the toss and elected to bat first. The batsmen never seemed in due to some excellent bowling by the Kathu I bowlers, André van Schalkwyk, Chris Mitchell and Carel Coetzer. Some good catches were taken and this ensured that Wrenchville could only post 54 all out. Kathu I made light work of chasing down the total, even with an odd wobble here and there.

Wrenchville – 54 all out, JohnPaul Minnaar 14, André van Schalkwyk 5/7 (6), Carel Coetzer 3/15 (6), Chris Mitchell 2/8 (7).

Kathu I – 55/4, Martin van Schalkwyk 21, Sanga Hanisi 15*.

Kathu I won by 6 wickets.

Man of the Match: André van Schalkwyk for his great leg spin bowling display. Well done!

Kathu Cricket Club would like to thank Wcc Wrenchville Cricket Club for the match. Also a big congratulations to Breyten Buys who played his 100th Club match for Wcc Wrenchville Cricket Club! A wonderful achievement.

Kathu I will play against Postmasburg Cricket Club in the 2018/2019 JTG League Final on the 16th of March 2019.
