On 1 February 2020 Kathu II played against Kathu High School in the JTG 50 Over Promotional League at Kathu Cricket Club.

Kathu II batted first and the scholars had them in trouble from the very first ball. Good batting by Zulqarnain Virk and Malcolm Erasmus ensured that a competitive target could be set. On a flat pitch it was always going to be difficult. Stephan De Klerk and Andre van Zyl ensured their team always stayed ahead of the required run rate. In the end Kathu High School won with 3 wickets remaining in the 39th over.
