Kathu I vs Postmasburg

On 7 of March 2020 Kathu I played against Postmasburg Cricket Club in the JTG 50 Over Premier League at Kathu Cricket Club.

Postmasburg won the toss and decided to bat first and got off to a steady start thanks to their veteran opening pair. The Kathu I bowlers had to work hard for the wickets. Etienne Botha Junior took the important wicket that opened the door for the Kathu I spinners. Tight bowling from the one end and the leg spin bowling of André van Schalkwyk from the other caused a batting collapse of note. In the process André van Schalkwyk took a hat-trick, his second for the Club. Kathu I then got off to a very steady start with a solid opening stand. Etienne Botha Junior batted through the innings to ensure a comfortable win. The win ensured that the Premier League Final will be played at Kathu Cricket Club.

Kathu I won by 7 wickets.

Man of the Match: André van Schalkwyk for his performance with both the ball. His best figures for the Club and a memorable hat-trick. Well done!
