Hip hop dance examinations held

The Dance Fever Studio held their annual hip hop dance examinations on November 3, 2020 behind Kathu’s Pick n Pay at the Heritage Mall. According to Nola le Roux, the head of Hip Hop at the studio said preparations were very challenging due to Covid-19 restrictions. As a result, preparations had to be conducted through zoom with one person being allowed to resume in the studios again. Despite all the challenges before them, dancers remained determined to participate in the examinations by doing all that was necessary for it to be a success.

The Dance Fever Studio is affiliated with the WX Hip Hop development program. Under the guidance of WX Hip Hop founder, Andre Calitz-world Hip Hop International judge and a familiar face as judge on television program, “Dans in jou Taal”. “We are extremely grateful for the good results every year. All sixty-four dancers who participated this year had successfully completed their Hip Hop examinations,” said Marelli Stephens, principal of Dance Fever Studio. The organization offers other classes in acrobatics, modern jazz, and tap dancing and has functional studios in Kathu and Kuruman respectively. Among the participants was Zoya Ahsan a seven-year old girl from Kuruman Primary School who exuded great confidence in the entire rehearsals and in the examination room.
