Kathu, Kuruman, Deben, Hotazel, Black Rock, Daniëlskuil, Lime Acres, Postmasburg, Olifantshoek and surrounding villages.

Three men aged 25,27 and 30 were apprehended on Tuesday,05 March 2019 in Seoding village near Kuruman. The arrest of the three emanated from a lengthy man-hunt and investigation into several unsolved cases in the John Taolo Gaetsewe Cluster for the past two years. Cases include house robbery, business burglary, car hijacking and robbery.

Among the arrested suspects, a 30-year-old has been identified as a traffic officer at the Gasegonyana municipality in Kuruman. One of the vehicles confiscated was found on his premises.

On 4 March the cluster received information which led to Seoding Village, where they found the suspects in possession of vehicles, which were reported hijacked from Mahikeng, Northwest Province between December last year and early January this year.

Upon the arrest of the suspects, the premises were searched. During the search they confiscated three vehicles, Mazda 3, Lexus, Honda SUV, including South African Police reflector jackets, ammunitions of different calibres of firearm, blue lights and a tool box which was reported to have been stolen during a carjacking and robbery near Kathu

All three vehicles were fitted with false registration number plates, while original registration number plates were removed.

The Cluster will expand their investigation to link the suspects with several unsolved cases in the province, more particular to crimes committed in the John Taolo Gaetsewe cluster princinct. Among the cases which the suspects will be linked to are car hijackings, where suspects impersonated police or traffic officers, using blue lights and South African Police reflector jackets.

They will also continue to link them with a case of business burglary, where the Gasegonyana municipality was broken-into and accessories including blue lights were stolen during the burglary.
