On Saturday 30 March 2019, Kathu Cricket Club hosted the JTG Regional Team against a JTG Invitational Team.

It was a wonderful day with the players from all the clubs in the region taking part as teammates. The game was played in good spirits and the cricket displayed the talent in the JTG region.

The JTG Regional Team was represented by: Oswald Willemse (Captain – Wrenchville Cricket Club), Mpho Motsepa (Kalahari Eye Warriors), Nico Beukes (Postmasburg Cricket Club), Hannes van Zyl (Kuruman Cricket Club), Malcolm Erasmus (Kathu Cricket Club), Ayasanga Hanisi (Kathu Cricket Club), Herman Swartz (Postmasburg Cricket Club), Breyten Buys (Wrenchville Cricket Club), Allosious Willemse (Progress Cricket Club), Waka Karsten (Kathu Cricket Club), Carel Coetzer (Kathu Cricket Club), Theo-Leighton De Kock (Manager – Kathu Cricket Club), John-Paul Minnaar (Assistant Manager – Wrenchville Cricket Club).

JTG Regional Team – 203/9 (45): Nico Beukes 54, Carel Coetzer 53, Oswald Willemse 20, Fabian Willemse 3/19 (6), Divan Reinecke 2/28 (9), JTG Invitational Team – 120 all out, Theo-Leighton De Kock 28*, Martin van Schalkwyk 17, Breyten Buys 4/10 (9), Allosious Willemse 2/28 (9).

JTG Regional Team won by 83 runs.

Man of the Match: Breyten Buys for his expedition of off-spin bowling. Still a lot of fuel in the tank old timer! Keep it up!
