Kathu suspect arrested for murder of Pofadder hotel owner

A joint investigative team comprising of the SAPS Provincial Organised Crime unit, the DPCI, Pofadder and Springbok detectives, led by Brigadier Dick de Waal arrested two suspects in connection with the murder of hotel owner Leon Brits.
This is according to Brigadier Mohale Ramatseba from the Office of the SAPS Provincial Commissioner, Northern Cape.
The deceased was stabbed to death on 07 October 2020 in Pofadder.
The one suspect aged 37 was arrested at Piketberg in the Western Cape, while the other suspect aged 34 was arrested at Kathu in the John Taolo Gaetsewe district.
The acting Provincial Commissioner Major General Phiwe Mnguni applauded the investigating team which led to the arrest of the suspects.
The suspects appeared at the local Magistrates Court in Pofadder on Monday 19 October 2020 and the case was postponed to 26 October 2020.
The police investigations continue.
