KIMBERLEY

On 20 March 2026 the Minister for Small Business Development Stella Tembisa Ndabeni-Abrahams joined by the MEC Lebogang Motlhaping and MEC Venus Blennies-Magage successfully launched the highly anticipated Northern Cape Agricultural Incubator (NCAI) in Kimberley.

The NCAl aims to drive economic growth, promote agricultural sustainability and boost the province’s fledgling economy. Emerging farmers, smallholders, commercial farmers, female and youth cooperatives are expected to derive significant benefits from this initiative.

Northern Cape Agriculture Incubator aims to provide a long-term developmental impact by imparting knowledge on business connectivity ecosystems to entrepreneurs, particularly youth, this directly addresses one of the most critical constraints for smallholder farmers : market access.

The facility will be instrumental in facilitating market access for SMEs supported by the incubator, allowing them to aggregate produce and connect with formal value chains.
