KATHU. On 18 April 2026 the non-profit organisation, Rhino Protection Unit (RPU) in Kathu hosted its annual golf day at the Kalahari Country Club with teams from local businesses playing their best golf on the Sishen golf course, all towards a good cause.

It was an action-packed day filled with live music, games, an auction, great networking opportunities for local businesses as well as exciting golf and community spirit and support. Most importantly, every swing and every bid contributed to critical services rendered by RPU in the Kathu and surrounding communities, from fighting veld fires to catching and relocating snakes as well as many more vital support services.

Andre Schoeman, founder of RPU, thanked all the sponsors, supporters, employees and volunteers who helped to ensure the success of the golf day which in return ensures that RPU can continue with its work. “Together, we make a meaningful and lasting difference”, he reminisced.
