A guard working for Kobra Security, Mr Trymore Mamvura, was stabbed to death by a drunkard on February 22, 2019 around 20:00 at a nightclub in Kuruman along Main Street next to General Motors. According to Mr Vincent Mapuranga, a fellow Zimbabwean colleague to the victim, the drunken man got into the nightclub with an aggressive mood and wanted to assault a female regular inside the tavern.

The security was alerted of the scuffle inside and went to quell out the quarrel between the two. The culprit shifted his demonic stupor and physically wanted to prove his wrestling prowess against the guard. Facing the daunting task, the security guard doused the pepper spray to the violent attacker.

The man went out as a symbol of submission to control himself. Little did the hapless guard realise that man was simply saying let sleeping dogs lie. He went to look for a knife.  After an hour or so the man returned like a wounded lion looking for the victim.

The guard was caught unawares, seated facing the opposite direction. The man unhindered, chose the lower side of his abdomen where the knife was left stuck inside leaving Mr Mamvura screaming for help. As the culprit tried to escape from the tragic scene, his binging state denied him the pace, Mr Mapuranga arrested him some few metres away.

A police vehicle that was passing by was stopped instantly and attended to the incident. Police took the victim to Kuruman hospital but was quickly referred to Kimberley hospital where he was declared dead early in the morning. The culprit was arrested and is in police custody while investigations are continuing.
