On Saturday, 18 April 2026, the U/19 Leopards soccer team from Kalahari High School took to the field carrying more than just the Kalahari badge — they carried heart, brotherhood and a promise.

While the team was preparing for their match as part of the 97th interschools against Vryburg High School, one of their own, Claydon Harmse, was laying his beloved grandmother to rest. On Friday, the boys made a vow to play, fight and win in honour of the Harmse family, dedicating their performance to Claydon and his grandmother.

With determination and unity, the Leopards delivered a powerful performance, securing a 3–1 victory over Galaletsang High School. Every kick and every goal were played with purpose and for family, for respect and for one of their own. This was more than just a win. It was a tribute. It was a statement of what it means to be a Kala.

Kalahari High School has also been crowned the overall winner of the 2026 Interschools after a competitive and spirited week of rugby, netball, hockey and soccer matches against Vryburg High School.

The school wants to thank its learners, teachers, parents and supporters and especially Mr Willie and the terrain staff for their passion and commitment. They look forward to the 98th Interschools which will be held in Vryburg in 2027.
